Kevin O'Brien Century Against England helps Ireland to win the match

It was the 15th match of the cricket world cup 2011 at Chinnaswamy stadium Bangalore. The minnows Ireland shocked the England team by defeating them chasing world cup record of 328 runs. Kevin O'brien fastest century against England made this happen. He scored his century in just 50 balls. This is the fastest century in all world cups.



Earlier England set a massive total of 327. Three english men crossed half century with jonathan trott missing his century by just 8 short. England were very confident in defending the Irish as james anderson bowled the Irish skipper in the very first ball of the Ireland innings.

Ireland were 106/4 in 22.2 overs when Kevin O'brien come to crease. He reaches his 50 at the 33rd over in just 30 balls. Alex Cusack partnered him well as they both took Ireland very close to victory. Kevin O'brien scored his century in the 41st over and the Ireland were in need of 56 runs from 54 balls. He was out for 110 and john mooney played responsibly and took Ireland to Victory.

India vs bangladesh world cup 2011

India start with a winning streak in the 2011 world cup, revenge bangladesh with a win of 87 runs as the tigers gave India a bad exit in the 2007 world cup. Feb 19th world cup start as India play on bangladesh in Mirpur. Bangladesh captain shakib al hasan had won the toss and he put India to bat thinking of dew factor.

It was sehwag and sachin who started the game for India. They made a blistering start produces 24 runs in just 2 overs. They both made a healthy partnership of 68 runs in just 64 balls. In the 11th over sachin got run-out as sehwag didn't respond to his call. Gambir came to crease and steadied Indian innings, they played responsibly and put a partnership of 84 runs. Gambhir was bowled by Mahmudullah in the 24th over. Gambhir scored run a ball of 39 with 3 fours.

Then the young man virat kohli joined the master blaster sehwag and took India to post a mammoth total of 370 / 4 in 50 overs. Virat kohli made his maiden world cup century. He was not out till the end of the Indian innings. Sehwag scored massive 175 of just 140balls with 14 fours and 5 sixes.

But they fail to capitalize the innings as the required run rate mounted high and they didn't take chances. At last it was India won the match and Virender Sehwag was adjudged man of the match for his blasing 175.

Google Doodle Celebrates Jules Verne Birthday

Google Doodle today celebrates the 183 birth anniversary of Jules Gabriel Verne, Famous french novelist. Among his  novels Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea(1870) and Around the world in eighty days (1873) were fantastic.


Jules Verne, a french science fiction novelist born on February 8, 1828 in France. His novels were all about stories on space and underwater travel. Even before existence of spaceships and submarines he started writing those science fiction novels.


In this Google doodle, the word Google functions as a submarine window. And fantastic thing is that on the right side of the logo you could see a red handle that controls your view from out your window. You can  move the handle as you wish, and the view changes according to that.
